Sandi
An exploding bloom of freshness with an uplifiting spirit.
I met Sandi when our daughters (her youngest and my oldest) were in daycare (they are both in college now). Madelin and Kaitlyn were best friends. It was absolutely adorable how close they were. They spent all day together and still wanted play dates whenever possible.
The girls ended up at different elementary schools but Sandi and I remained friends. Through the years we haven’t been in constant contact, but we were always there for each other. It was one of those great friendships where you pick up right where you left off no matter the amount of time that has passed.
When she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer I was one of the people she trusted with her secret. When our daughters graduated high school and went to college we reminisced and shared photos of when they were little. I know that she is there if I need anything and that is what friendship is about.
She recently said to me, “Distance and years cannot separate special bonds in life. You are one of those people for me Stephanie. Grateful for you.” I feel exactly the same way about her.
